Says actress Amrita Puri, who believes that one should not clone fashion trends blindly nor lose one's individual style.
What's your style quotient?
Casual, chic, clean and classy.
Tight fitted or loose t-shirts, you prefer?
Definitely loose t-shirts. They are more easy and chic if you ask me. But they need to fall well.

10 tips to remember when you wear white

White is classic and will never go out of style. But you need to know how to wear it right if you want to carry it off well. Here are a few points you need to keep in mind...
1. Golden rule: Wear skin-coloured/nude inners, because white inners always show through most summer-friendly fabrics. Try to ensure that the shade of the inners is as close as possible to your skin tone.
2. Keep in mind that white tends to make certain areas look a little larger as it reflects light, so a white might not look very flattering on parts of the body which should not be looking oversized!
3. One should be careful while selecting white shoes if one's feet are very large. Going for tapered circular tipped shoes (not pointy, not t-front) is a good choice. Keep it sleek.
4. One should avoid white white sandals or 'chappals' if one's feet are not presentable, as white draws a lot of attention, and usually shines due to contrast on Asian skin tones. Again nothing lumpy, or overpowering.
5.Use skin products/cosmetics before wearing a white outfit. Infact it's best to wear an outfit only once the product has fully dried, else it may leave marks which may ruin the radiance of the outfit and make it look unkempt. This applies to deodorants also.

6. Try to use deodorants which deter sweating around the arm pits, this would help keep the garment free from sweat stains.
7. Men need to ensure that their body hair doesn't fuzz out at places, body hair shine along white garments, specially shirts. Looking neat in whites is very crucial.
9. Never overstuff your pockets. This helps keep the ironing and the silhouette of the ensemble in place.
10. White sarees can be worn with contrast blouses, but one should ensure the the pleating of the pallu reduces the visibility of the blouse area which has to get covered under the saree, i.e. the blouse should not be visible through the 'pallu'. The opening of the blouse should be very well finished. It would be better to wear a blouse with a zipper instead of hooks when you are wearing white.
Stilettos, gladiators or wedges?
Planning to wear a little black dress? Don't forget to put on a pair of gladiator heels. Or if you prefer a backless gown, go for stilettos. Women can discover a whole world at their feet - with the right kind of heels!
"People generally ignore their footwear while dressing up. They end up wearing safe colours like black, silver and brown. But each dress has a different requirement and you can make a statement by wearing the right footwear with your favourite dress," shoe designer Swati Mehrotra, who sells her products under the label Swati Modo, said.
Women have the option of wearing heels like stilettos, wedges, kitten heels, cone heels or gladiators, also known as Roman sandals which are very popular these days.
"Wear chunky heels with a bright summer dress and flats with jumpsuits only if you are blessed with a good height, else opt for wedges," suggests Mehrotra.
According to footwear brand Tresmode's CEO Kapil Mahtani, heels not only add height but also define a woman's personality. Though a woman wears footwear depending on the comfort level and attire, Mahtani dissects its wearability on the basis of personality.
"Fashion conscious and confident women prefer heels like stilettoes. Shoes such as wedges signify a more casual, relaxed and sporty personality while women who are bold prefer sky towering stilettos," he said.
So how to match your dress with those shoes? Here are some tips.
According to Mehrotra, stilettos never go out of fashion. "The stiletto is considered to be the supreme erotic footwear and unbeatable compared to any other footwear," she said.
But if it's not your type, then opt for wedges which are comfortable and fashionable at the same time. Thick wedge heels with a flowing skirt can make the ankle look thin and when used with close-fitting attires can give a clunky look.
Age doesn't matter when it comes to heels. You could grab a pair of kitten heels, or low heels.
Then comes the most stylish of all them all - gladiators - which date back to the ancient culture of the Greeks and Romans. From flats to heels and from ankle length to calf length - gladiators accessorised with zippers, buckles, studs and embroidery can be worn with almost everything.Fashion Necklaces Hair Accessory
You can also wear your cone heels with your little black dress or with a nice long top and tights.
But avoid matching your shoe with the exact colour of a solid summery dress and wear a comfortable yet stylish pair with your business suit.
"Pumps are appropriate for work wear as they add height and are stylish and comfortable," said Mahtani.
Fashion designer Nida Mahmood reveals her love for gladiators and says these days she is busy collecting different types of Roman footwear in different colours and heels.
"I am in love with these gladiators - you can wear them with anything. If you are wearing something till the knee, they go very well with it, or else if you are in a super sexy dress, wear one with heels - they are just way too perfect," said Mahmood.
So pick up your favourite footwear and match it with your sexy dress and set out for that perfect evening.

"Off-duty, my style is comfortable and simple. But it changed depending on the city I'm in — in New York, it is combat boots and something grungy; in LA, it's more bohemian and beachy; in Mumbai, it's a lot of linens and breathable clothes," says Poorna, adding that she first really discovered her sense of style in Delhi. "I think I was around 15 — I moved to Delhi and started trolling the alleys of Janpath and Sarojini Nagar. I would pick up pieces for dirt cheap prices and started experimenting with form a lot. As far as jewellery goes, she steers away from it. "I am very much a clothes person," she concludes, "I have very little jewellery, almost no handbags and a very healthy amount of shoes."

Ready to wear cool cat tights?
A pair of casual jeans, stylish cotton tees, sunglasses and hats are a must when you are travelling, says designer Rina Dhaka and adds that women should carry outfits and accessories according to the nature of destination.
"A woman should carry clothes according to the place she is going to. If you are going on a holiday on a beach, carry light-weight resort wear like one-piece dresses, short skirts and cocktail gowns in bright colours with matching accessories and shoes," Dhaka said in a telephonic interaction.

She added: "If you are going to a holy place, carry something ethnic. One should always carry a pair of casual jeans and stylish cotton tees. Also, I am fond of accessories like sunglasses and hats. I carry them everywhere, but I tend to lose them."
An avid traveller, Dhaka recently visited Amritsar, Pushkar, Benaras, Mumbai and Lucknow for Fox Traveller's show "Style And The City".
"I have been travelling all my life for my collections. Recently, when I was in Amritsar, I dressed like a Punjabi kudi. I wore salwar kameez and covered my head with a dupatta. When I go to markets, I wear tees, off shoulder top, jeans or palazzos. I wear a gown or a dress when I attend an evening function," said Dhaka known for her expertise in creating bridal wear.
Although she is still particular about her wardrobe, but make-up doesn't interest her any more.
